The bird with a unique comb


This Critically endangered ancient chicken is medium in size. Hens lay white medium to large eggs. Producing approx. 150-200 eggs per year. They sport a unique V-shaped comb. Chicks are slow growing and hardy. Weight varies from 6.5 lbs to 8 lbs. This bird is valued for its meat flavour. They like to forage and fly well. They are highly alert birds. They do get used to humans and will go about their business. They are not setters and can bear confinement. La Flèche  were recognized by the APA in 1874. They have tight fitting feathers and are easy keepers.
